What are Rights Managed (RM) images?
Also known as Licensed images.
Please note that a
license allows an image to be used for the specified purpose only and that
additional uses require additional licenses to be issued.
Licenses can contain some of the following criteria;
1. Media - book, magazine, CD, website, etc
2. Region - UK, USA etc
3. Time Period - 1 week, 3 months etc
4. Print run - 250, 250,000 etc
5. Image size/position - front cover, 1/8th page
RM images can also be sold with an "EXCLUSIVE
LICENSE" (also referred to as Rights
Protection) which means that the image
can have similar uses restricted for the term of the license. This type of
license is useful for high-profile projects
such as ad campaigns and promotions please contact us at:
sales@pollen-photos.com for more information.
What does the image size mean?
Before you download your images,
it's important that you check that what you have chosen will meet your print
requirements. To do this, you will need to take two factors relating to the
final output into account:
the printed resolution or dpi
the dimensions
The dimensions indicate the size that your image will appear when printed,
whilst the resolution indicates how much detail will be included in every inch
printed. You always need to consider both the size that the image will be
reproduced (shown in inches and millimetres below) and the print resolution
(shown as dpi) that will be used.
Here are some standard uses of stock photos, showing dimensions, dpi and file
size required:
A3: 48-70 MB, 300 DPI, 420 x 297 mm, 11 3/4 x 16 1/2 in
How do I place an order?
For step by step instructions please see
the Images Help Page and the Features Help Page below.
How long does it take to download my
images?
This depends on the type of internet
connection and bandwidth that you use.
A file size of 48 MB takes approximately
15 minutes to download on an ISDN connection.
What time period do I have to
download my images?
From the time that you confirm your
order online you will have 14 days to download your images.
I can’t download the images I
ordered?
Account/registered users who have
exceeded our credit terms will not be able to download images.
Please contact
accounts@pollen-photos.com to discuss further.
Can I cancel my order?
By asking you to confirm your order
twice you will never accidentally order images. Your confirmation is the
equivalent to breaking the seal on traditionally supplied images, so
unfortunately we are not able offer refunds.
